Seeing God's lessons while raising a son- PATIENCE

Seeing God's lessons while raising a son.

Patience

There is not a whole lot of discipline that goes into a young boy at 6 months old.
Pretty much they can do no wrong. :D (as I'm typing this jeremiah is banging his hands onto his high chair tray while grunting. Is this a sign of things to come?!) ha
ok back to, "pretty much they can do no wrong!" They are just sweet and cute. And probably the only temper they are going to throw around right now is the one saying I'm starving mom why are you not feeding me this very second! ha
The only thing so far that I have had to "correct" with jeremiah is patience!!! Isnt it funny how a lack of patience already shines through my son of only 6 months. Eph. 4:2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

I have been teaching him to stay calm in those times. I try and always use a calm voice and to make sure no angry faces shine at him! (i'm learning patience as I'm teaching him patience) funny cycle! Jeremiah knows that I will not stop feeing him, he's become full for the past 6 months. But for some reason he doubts me still! How many times have we doubted God that he would not take care of us and "feed" our needs that we have. He has followed through every time!! Maybe not always in the way we have wanted. But every time he has taken care of us when we were in need. In the same way Jeremiah is learning to trust me that I will not let him go hungry just because i'm switching jars of food or switching a side to nurse him on.

In this new season of life I'm always trying to find new verses that you don't usually hear come out of christians mouths. Now I know obviously there are many verses that christians don't say. But i'm talking some throw down verses. And my goal is to proclaim them with all that I am! So for Patience instead of the common 1 Corinthians 13:4 I'm going to share 1 Thessalonians 5:14, And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone.

So with this verse. I encourage you, to encourage those around you that seem idle in there faith and in the purpose & passion that God has given them. I encourage you to uplift your friends & speak positively into their hearts so that fear will be gone from them and they will be filled with the same passion of speaking to people that God had when he walked on this earth. I encourage everyone to help the weak!! Wether that means going down town and serving food to the homeless. Teaching refugees english so they can become more comfortable in their new home in the U.S., or helping someone close to you through a tough time. There are ALWAYS people who are feeling weak and are in need of some uplifting hands. All you have to do is look around or ask. Trust me, God will bring someone to you if you just ask! And of course Patience. Be patient with everyone. Nothing is worth getting upset, angry, frustrated, or hurting someone over.

I have prayed over this message so know as you're reading this you have been prayed over!

Here is a photo of Jeremiah. He was 6 1/2 months when this was taken. My, oh my, how my son has great personality! I adore him! I am sooo blessed to be his motherly guidance on earth.

9 weeks left

This week marks the single digit weeks we have left till the little guy gets here!
He is beginning to lose room in the ol' belly as he becomes larger & I become stretched to my limits. Litterly! :)
He should weigh somewhere around 4 lbs. & is about 18 in. long. We have a couple more lbs to pack on him and just 2 or so inches until birth.
Were so excited to have him here! 9 weeks seems SO far away!

Well I have discovered something amazing. SHUTTERFLY!!! :)
My mom was telling me about shutterfly being a great tool that we could use as a family to get pictures to her easier. Seeing as how we live ruffly 8 hrs. apart it's not so easy for her to make it to see us on a regular basis or visa versa! So I got on & started an account thinking. "This is not going to work." Mainly cause i HATE technology. Yes. that's right. I hate it! Life would be so much more simple without it. (that's my view, now ask my husband and he would say i'm crazy) I guess you could call me "old school" Even my mom is more technology savvy then me! haha

So once I got started. After some help from my mom (haha) i figured out how to share the pictures with her. Well that led me to the shutterfly web page that they create for you once you set up an account to share photos with friends & family. I selected to have a private account where you have to be a shutterfly member & must be invited by me to see any of the pictures. I don't want just anyone seeing those bare belly pics of me! Due to how they set it up it's an actual web page. i.e. example.shutterfly.com It's SSOO cool.

So now I have this awesome webpage that is private that my family & friends can see & even get pictures printed from & shipped to their home! It's just amazing! So i guess you could say I'm kind of liking technology right now!! :)

Why the Jungle?

Well the biggest change going on in the Briney's life is our son that will be here in November!
We are so excited, blessed & honored to be given one of God's children to take care of & shepard here on this earth. The responsibility & weight of bringing up a christian boy is very heavy & I know we will have our work cut out for us with the world weighing so heavy against us. But we are so excited about this!
This is just a silly little thing to talk about but I wanted to share how we got the jungle theme idea for his room. This is actually a VERY sentimental experience to me and it all branches from this lady and her family. While I was in Uganda a year ago next month. I met this widowed lady & 3 of her 5 children.

What you see of this room is their house. No bathroom, no kitchen, just simply a room that holds this 3 story bunk bed & 1 twin size bed. Her 4 boys sleep on the bunk beds and her and her daughter sleep on the full size bed.
In the pic on the right they are standing outside of their door & window. The curtain to the right of them is someone elses house. The boys go to school during the day and her daughter sales these amazing mobiles that her mother makes by hand in the busy streets of Uganda. (girls are last priority in schooling so the majority of the time in big families girls will never be educated)
At the time of meeting this family the girl was not able to sale the mobiles in the streets due to an injury. Her foot had been ran over by a Boda Boda (this is a dirt bike that many use as transportation around the city, it's like a taxi to them) This lady had 2 mobiles that she had made but had no way to sale. She gave me a bag and explained to my translator that it was a gift for coming all the way there to visit them. Tears filled my eyes knowing that she was giving me a gift that she was going to sale & make $ on so she could feed her family but instead gave to me for nothing. One thing I learned in Uganda is that they will give you whatever they have cause you are their special guest when visiting. I got eggs & avocados just for visiting people at church. And yes they were tasty! :)

anyways.. I am hanging this mobile & a picture of the lady & her family in my sons room so he will look back at pictures one day and wonder why there is a african family on his wall & maybe wonder why his mobile doesn't match. (which i bought used from a church consignment sale for $2! SCORE!) (oh, and the turny music thing is not on yet. I just hung it from the base to take a picture of it) I then can tell him why his dad & I went to africa. It was to help the widows & the orphaned cause this is what God calls us to do in James 1:27 & Isaiah 1:17.
I told the mother I could not take this for free when I knew that her & her children had no money for food until they sold another mobile. So i asked how many she had. She had only 2 put together so I told her I would pay her 3 times the worth of them and hopefully that would give them enough money to get by until her daughters foot could heal.

thus... how we came up with the jungle theme for our sons room.

i'm back in the game!

So I have really had a passion lately to begin blogging again.
I have wanted to share my heart & thoughts for some time now it's just so hard for me to get on the internet to do so cause i hate being on the computer. :)
So i'm trying to get motivated to start writing again. I have plenty of thoughts & ideas to write about. It's just a matter of doing it!

So here I go. my first post on my blog in a LONG time! wish me luck. Hopefully when you come back and check out the blog you'll get to read something new! :)

poor ipod.

Well ipod is having his manhood taken away from him today! :-(
I feel really bad, but have been reassured that this is a normal procedure and if it does not happen then he could become a happy humping dog. so for the sake of everyone in the world that could ever meet ipod we are getting him neutered. :)
you can thank me later. haha jk

well i woke up at 8:30am this moring. That's better!!!
I have decided that I was just either completely exhausted from work yesterday or i'm back on my regular sleeping schedule. Lets hope for the second one otherwise i'm a pansy! :-)

4:40am

oh my. oh my.
Well i accidently fell asleep at 6:30pm last night. haha
paul says he tried to wake me up a couple of times last night, but.... i don't remember any of them.
So this morning I woke up at 4:40am rip roaring ready to go and hungry as could be!!!! ha
But....no macaroni this morning, i've decided to keep all my eating habits to myself cause paul likes to announce it in church apparently! oh my!!
So i've been reading, surfing the web. Paul just woke up for the day, came into the living room walking like an old man. I was laughing SO hard!!!! Then he thought it was to bright in the house so he decided to turn off every light that i had turned on. It was SO funny!!!! He cracks me up.
There is never a dull moment in the briney house!

by the way, you can see some of my africa pics i took on paul's blog

Up at 2am

I accidently woke paul up while i was grabbing some socks out of the dresser. He said I was crazy and that I should blog about this...So here i go! :-)
At 2am this morning I woke up. Wide eyed & bushy tailed. I apparently fell asleep at 6pm yesterday. (don't remember that) but woke up at 2am rip roaring & ready to go.
Around 3:30 hunger came over me like a storm so I decided to make mac & cheese, the only thing in the house since we have not been grocery shopping since we've been back. So now i'm eating my "breakfast(USA)/lunch(africa)" watching Sneakers, one of my favorite movies ever. Man this time change is really getting to me this time around, but at least I'm sleeping properly, even if it is at the wrong time of the day. :-)
Up once again for another sunrise.
